''He's a great competitor'' - Usually uttered by Floyd Mayweather

''I'm not looking past my next opponent' - Usually when the guy is getting ready to fight a complete bum who they know they will beat with relative ease in order to boost their ranking to fight someone who they have been targeting for a payday.

 

Max...Max.... come on, This is boxing!

''It has to be the right situation''

 

"i'm not looking past my opponent..." when they were just talking about a potential fight as if they've already beaten said opponent

 

I said added the exact same thing above. It's terribly cliche and immediately know the fighter who utters it is full of bs.

 

completely agree, and it usually comes after they've been borderline promoting a future fight. As soon as i hear that phrase, i just hope they lose

 

"I'm going to talk to my promoter." That doesn't sound very confident or enthusiastic to me.

"I never heard of him before." You makin $1 mil or more a year and you don't have a tv? What's the matter with you?

 

"It has to marinate a bit"
"Just look at his face and you know who really won the fight"
"He has the most natural boxing ability I've seen in a while"

 

Another one, and i don't know why it bugs me because it could be true, but fighters saying "this has been the best camp i've ever had", no idea why, just annoys me

 

I'm a GGG fan but......"This is boxing" has to stop.
