    Why so they could steal all his money? He was really the first to start his own gig, and now almost all fighters are doing it.

    No because he would of gained more exposure and got the bigger fights sooner. And Arum never stopped de la hoya or pac man from making millions.

    King did. And Arum is still a promoter that takes a cut. Acting as your own promoter there is no cut for them. I dont know, Roy Jones was the attraction in his weight divisions. James Toney, his first real big fight was also without the need for a big time promoter. I dont too many other fights that could have been made sooner? Jones Jr like I said was the attraction and guys wanted to fight him.
    It was basically the same thing only that Jones was negotiating on his own behalf with a rival promoter. Guys like King always wanted the lions share and I dont know too many King fighters or Arum fighters at that time that would have made a big fight. Most of Jones Jr's fights were against solid but not superstar fighters.
    The guys overseas just refused to come to the US to fight Jones.
