I thought i read somewhere that Cotto said Maussa was the hardest hitter he faced, that was of coarse earlier in his career. I also heard that Maussa was a 6 time national champion in Columbia. He got outclassed in the Cotto fight at 140lbs but extremely game and made it a war.
I remember Hatton had some trouble with Maussa until he landed that monster left hook.Maussa head butted him twice and had Hatton cut over both eyes, but Hatton was coming on strong getting his range. That crazy guy had me a little nervous, if i remember it right, this fight was a ppv on Thanksgiving day or the day after.
Amir Khan and James Kirkland. Khan would have had an exceptional career if he had the chin of a Wayne McCullough. He was giving Danny Garcia a boxing lesson and even Canelo to an extent.
JMM gets caught off balance more than anything. His chin is one of the best out there usually when he is down he comes back to dominate in the same round. It was same with Naz, anytime he went down it was an off balance thing and he was always back on his feet before the ref could say "1"
So basically tough guys with no chin? Terry Norris is a prime example. So is Hearns to an extent. Jorge Lineras Hozumi Hasegawa, Juanma Lopez.
It's Juanma you meant? Yep I believed he will got sparked within 4 rounds by Juanma but then bam, he won by KO. I wonder why Juanma's power never affected Siri at all.
Yes he was down in almost every big fight, I just wonder why Gamboa and Mikey Garcia had no trouble putting him down but Juanma failed.
