The youngster had a brain hydration restriction clause in his contract. He wasn't allowed to rehydrate his brain even after the weigh in as Hearns junior inserted a snidey day of fight weight clause too, not content with draining the youngster down to 157 or whatever disgraceful number it was for the official weigh in. Young CHRIS being the model pro he is, raised under the warrior code, still made the weight even AFTER the fight had been cancelled because BENNE got caught cheating despite Hearns juniors despicable attempts to bury the test results and buy silence from the press. young CHRIS was one of the worst examples of contractual weight draining in modern memory.
I think Degale is underrated and two decisions in big fights wrongly go against him. I agreed with Warren and Watt that Degale should of won against Groves by 2 points. I thought Degale edged Jack despite being dropped twice.
I think there’s a good case to say underrated. Definitely never got the recognition during his career. His CV is right up there with any Brit.
Under rated. 2 losses to all time greats, one avenged (not sure if that’s the right word but you take my point). 19 world title fights back to back to end career winning 16 of them. Gave Calzaghe one of his toughest tests. Competitive in his Froch L. . But you could (and probably will) his resume is pretty weak…. But for me underrated.
Nailed it. The Goldilocks zone shall henceforth be known as the Chris Billam-Smith zone thank you Sir, thread locked.
