Well spoken, the only performance of Calzaghe's that I deem great was his beatdown of Lacy other than that I think hes blown out of proportion.

    LET ME ASK ANOTHER QUESTION......

WOuld you ever expect to see a FRANK WARREN fighter...fight

    the following sequence of fighters...

    Joppy
    HOPKIN (TWICE)
    OUMA
    SPINKS
    WRIGHT
    PAVLIK....

Calzaghe fought a great fight against Kessler too, a disciplined tactical fight

Eubank, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall. People havn't seen enough of him to know how good his performance levels have been, and have mostly caught him past peak at the end of his career.

His fight against Kessler was good but it wasnt a brilliant performance you would expect from someone who is supposed to be "Supernatural"

You honestly think that? Lacy was just lucky that clash of heads happened in the Lacy/Tsypko I ... or else he wouldn't have been thought of as such an unbeatable machine. That fight was much earlier than Jeff's meeting with Calzaghe.

What counts as "brilliant"? Getting a clear cut win over a much younger and feared fighter, beating him at his own game with the jab even, is a great performance to me. This is past prime Calzaghe too.

His win against Lacy was brilliant I would say dominating another fighter and making it look easy is what qualifies as brilliant

We have to take levels into account. Whilst the Lacy performance was without doubt brilliant, you clearly wouldn't have to be quite so dominating over a much superior fighter like Kessler to qualify as "brilliant"

    Common sense.

What's your explanation for how much he's declined at the age of 29?

    That's not the question....

Mayweather fought 2 P4P fighters in their primes. And Corrales WAS ranked higher at 130 than Mayweather was when they fought by many (he was ranked higher P4P by both ESPN and Ring).

but corrales was clearly not at his peak .. if you consider a weight drained corrales with all the legal troubles he was in a peaking opponet thats pretty crazy

I dont think Kessler's that good, better than Lacy but nothing to write home about. When Joe made his adjustments, and started to give Kessler fits it looked like it bothered him way too much and he started acting like a woman. Anyways I saw that fight and it went how I expected and when I rewatched the fight I dont think "wow awesome what a great performance". When I watch Jones vs Ruiz, Jones vs Kelly, and Jones vs Toney I definitely think that is brilliance.

I wouldn't even be bothered to get the pen and paper to write home about Pavlik

    But there we go :deal
