What I am telling you is that if Mayweather HADN'T fought Corrales, you and others who dislike him (and let's not pretend that you don't dislike Mayweather) would be using that against him just as Casamayor is used against him. Corrales' personal problems and weight problems are not Mayweather's problem. And if I recall correctly, Corrales dropped back down to 130 gradually after his hiatus to fight Casamayor. His weight problems were his own and can't be held against Mayweather. And if he went back down to the weight later on....well.

There's a lot of gray area's in your thoughts.

First off how did Joe calzaghe became a legend? Is he ?

Second JC is rated higher than Pavlik in the P4p list . . . how does fighting and defeating Pavlik help JC's stature?

If you're trying to justify why JC should be fighting Pavlik instead of Roy Jones . . . then you failed. Wrong arguement.

Some Calzaghe fans have the nerve to criticise Mayweather over taking money fights instead of the highest perceived challenge then Calzaghe goes on and does the same thing. I'm tired of reading the same hypocritical defenses of Calzaghe by his fans and constant underrating of other fighters.

Don't you think that most top level talents do this at some point? Sometimes, we get lucky and the big money fights are the best fighters too, but all too often lately then big money fights are with aged champions.

Name one thread where the thread starter has actually said something from his mouth instead of his arse?

Does that mean that the #1 p4p fighter doesn't need to fight anyone lower? If the fighters are ranked top 10 p4p, they need to fight each other to see who is really best. Roy Jones is not ranked in the p4p top ten right now and is not the best challenge for Calzaghe right now. The best justification for Calzaghe fighting Pavlik is that Pavlik is seen as one of the top challengers by a lot of real fans and that's the fight we want to see.

A fight with Pavlik would be WAY better than a fight with Jones, that's for sure and no one can deny it. BUT even if he fights and beats Pavlik then people will say he beat a former middleweight and won't give him any credit, whether it's Jones or Pavlik, if he comes out victorious he won't get enough credit and that's a fact.

Roy Jones is one of my favorite fighters and so is Pavlik. I wanted to see Calzaghe fight Jones then Pavlik. The problem is the Calzaghe has said that he might retire after his next fight and if that's the case, I would rather he fight Pavlik because he is close to his prime right now. A Pavlik fight would also make him a lot of money.

Same as the guy in your avatar, same as a lot of fighters. That's apart of boxing and that's a part of life, all important things aren't considered important until years down the road. But the question is, what is Joe looking for? Popularity? Create a Legacy? Money?
