Goldenboy has not created one single boxing star, with their vast financial resources. Al Haymon has not created one big star with all his influence on HBO and Goldenboy.

Goldenboy is a failure. They lived off Mosley, Hopkins, oscar, Hatton, Floyd, Barrera, who all were already big names befor ethey hooked up with Goldenboy. Goldenboy has totally failed. So has Haymon.

Saul Alvarez could be the one single star Goldenboy has made but he's not there yet, atleast not in America.

How long has Golden Boy Promotions been around compared to Don King and Top Rank?

Mares is only known by hardcore boxing fans. Goldenboy has actually been around almost 10 years, it's been a while sinc ethey had the HBO LAtino deal.

    Golden Boy started in 2002

    Top Rank started in 1966.

Don King appears to have started around 1974.

So Golden Boy has little less than 9 years

Top Rank has 45, and Don King has 37.

Amir Khan seems to be the future of the sport, and Golden Boy promoted him when a lot of people were writing him off as inherently doomed.

Canelo is gaining notoriety both in Mexico and here.

Golden Boy have not made Alvarez into anything yet. He was massively popular in Mexico before they even signed him.

The point has been made already that Golden Boy have only been around for 9 years but, on top of that, it's only the last couple were they have been proper promoters. Before, it was a group of fighters who essentially promoted themselves and each other. Only now are De La Hoya and Schaefer actively promoting young fighters.

I'd say they did a good job with Victor Ortiz, considering he has lost. He's a decent name.

GoldenBoy and Haymon both suck. Never made any star.

They're just "milking" HBO's resources to build overrated hype-jobs.

Haymons spoils Berto, and Oscar "babies" Linares, Guerrero, Marquez by keeping them away from Soto.
