I'll start this thread with Duran beating much bigger and much younger Iran Barkley.

Many would debate it but George Foreman vs Moorer would be close. For some a case could be made George wasn't "shot" but i think you could make a case he was too. He was well over the hill when he fought Holyfield a full 3 1/2 years earlier. He'd lost heavily on points the fight before Moorer against a boxing Morrison. He was also getting pumped by Moorer until the sudden ending.

George still had size, strength, power and a great chin but that was about it.

That's a good one. But if you go further back everybody expected Moore to beat a "shot" Duran as well.

Sanders wasn't what he used to be but he still had a bit left in the tank.

The one that jumps out is Edwin Rosario blowing away Loretto Garza

Rosario had looked shot for a couple of years before this fight.

Gaza had beaten Coggi and Pazienza and looked to be peaking.

It wasn't just that a thought to be shot Rosario beat Garza - is was that he totally blew him away, and, infact, ruined him as a fighter.

    Actually, Johnson was favored.

He was on 5 yr winning streak and looked good leading up to this fight.

Also, it was for the vacant title - Stewart was not the champion.

After getting by Stewart, he had a 13 round war with Jean Emebe that apparently depleted him.

In the rematch against Stewart, it was now apparent from the first bell Johnson was shot.

Duran wasn't "shot" for either Moore or Barkley. For both he was older and past prime, but "shot" is improperly applied there in both cases.
