Name Some ATG fighters, who Had Not so Great Chins?

Guillermo Rigondeaux never had the best chin, but it was good enough to get up.

 

Pryor's chin was fine. He fought some big time
hitters at Jr. welt like Cervantes, Kamaida, Johnson,
Hart (Who killed a man and damn near killed another)
and of course The legendary Alexis Arguello.
Though Pryor was knocked down many times,
it was more because of his balance issues from
the reckless over aggressive way that he attacked
than actually being seriously hurt.
When he choose to fight with more discipline as he
did against Arguello. He didn't get knocked down
once. Though fighting over 24 rds against him.

but, how many title fights had each one? How many rounds or how many minutes between knock downs?

For comparative purposes IMO it would be way more useful to have a sort of metric telling us how an ATG was knocked down every so often fights, rounds or minutes.

 

Probably, but his KO loss to Big George was like the moment of truth for his chin and it was found lacking.

Well Patterson didn’t have a great chin, no argument there - as apparent from the number of KDs suffered.

I’d say some KDs were due to balance issues and leakier defence in earlier career..Ingo also scored a lot of the KDs in a fight that should’ve been stopped much earlier. But anyway…..

I look at it in practical terms - of course you lose actual points for being KD’d and are perhaps more vulnerable for a short time after arising - but the frequency of KDs suffered might not correlate at all with actual KOs suffered otherwise.

I put Louis in the same boat as Patto. KD’d more than a few times, yes, but arising most of the time and actually going on to win.

There would be guys out there with more KO losses but possibly not nearly as many KDs suffered on their slate.
