Benny Leonard really retired in 1924....But in the great crash of 1929.Leonard lost his foirtune and was FORCED to return to the ring...a fat , bald old shell of his prime...In 1932 he fought the great McLarnin in'his last fight...At 150 lbs ? Possible, but that was not the lightweight
great benny Leonard...That was the great stock market crash Leonard'
    Great distinction.!

Firstly, Pryor, although excellent, clearly was no Great, (the word should only be used for very special fighters); but to play along, he made his name as a Lightweight, but as he was unable to get a shot at a Lightweight alphabet title, he moved up to Junior Welterweight.

No. I am one of those who thinks for the word to many something special, there can only be a very limited amount of Greats.

Pryor was excellent in his peak. But the shortness of that excellence, puts him a level below say an Ali, Duran or Robinson.

differing opinions, I say you take fighters with an exceptional ability to excel in an era you say those guys are great.

In the past few years paquiao, hopkins, roy jones, mayweather, lennox lewis maybe calzaghe... I dont know thats like in the last 10 years

we aint talkin top 10, probably top 100 atg.
