Guzman TKO9 Pacquiao at 122? Sounds like a good pick to me.

I've never seen Guzman even remotely phased by a punch. Granted he's never fought anybody with the power of Pacquiao, but Pacquiao's never fought somebody as dynamic and unpredictable as Guzman, who throws from all angles and seems to have a sixth sense when it comes to slipping, sliding, and making you pay.

Right now, I'd take Guzman in a unanimous decision over Pacquiao. His power isn't as potent at 130 and Pacquiao has an iron chin.

dynamic, unpredictable, COMPLETE! thats barrera. now tell me what happened to him in the pac fight at 126. at 122, the result would have also been the same.

126 version of Barrera wasnt dynamic and unpredictable.

He was controlled aggression, boxing technique and ring smarts.

Being dynamic is fighting like a tasmanian devil. Like a wild, aggressive slugger, non stop punching machine. Well, like a younger Pacquiao.

Or maybe a super slick, super talented fighter with lighting quick reflexes

    That's dynamic.

Barrera was cool as a cucumber when he was boxing you. He tried to pick you apart and he'd give you a couple of hard flurries here and there. He'd let it all out when youre hurt. Master boxer-puncher.

WTH with the thesaurus comment? :huh

Barrera is my second favorite fighter (behind Duran). He was a skilled boxer puncher at 126. When it comes to defensive skill, reflexes, and movement, Guzman is better. I'd even venture to say he's a superior counter puncher.

Pacquiao has the perfect style to beat Barrera, and would always beat him. The more aggressive Barrera would be playing right into Pacquiao's hands by coming right at him. The Barrera we saw at 126 and 130, who had lost a step but evolved into a complete boxer-puncher, would always lose as well. Pacquiao's speed coupled with his unpredictable attack/movement prevents Barrera from controlling the real estate and countering as effectively. Barrera is more effective as a boxer against basic pressure fighters like Juarez.

Guzman has the perfect style to beat Pacquiao, on the other hand. He's great against pressure fighters, has the reflexes and defensive skills to take away Pacquiao's left hand (which was really all he had at 122), and the power to hurt him. He is physically strong, too, so his ability to mix in aggression would be key because Pacquiao cannot fight off of the backfoot. During exchanges, Guzman's would get the better of Pacquiao, and his competent movement would offset Pacquiao's lunges and explosive attacks. Overall, I just see Guzman's style being more effective than Pacquiao's style. The variety of angles in which he threw from along with the speed and power could lead to a stoppage, depending on how much punishment Pacquiao takes.

I said Guzman would stop Pacquiao at 122, but win a UD at 130.
