    For example,

Lou Del Valle against Roy Jones. Lou lost the fight but put an a prime superman on his arse when everyone thought him invulnerable. So he won the event.

Wayne McCullough against Naseem Hamed. Naz was on a blazing KO streak and had looked immense in the fights preceeding his tussle with the Irishman. Wayne went the distance, and even though he was comfortably beaten on points, it was a kind of moral victory that he'd gone the full 12 x 3 with Hamed. Wayne celebrated accordingly at the final bell.

Joe Calzaghe versus Bernard Hopkins. An elderly B-Hop unofficially handed the Welshman his first defeat. Hopkins ring generalship and accuracy exposed Calzaghe's lack of craft and guile. But the judges unfathomably favoured Joe's workrate and awarded him an unjust decision. So even though Calzaghe lost the fight, he won the event by default.

Yep, I was thinking of those as well.

How about Whitaker in his first fight with Chavez?

I don't put too much into the Del Valle kd as Roy Jones in his prime was known to fight while dripping wetspots in the ring just look at the Malinga fight. Anyways, that was still a good punch whether that kd was legit or not. I will say that Trinidad won the event with DLH but clearly lost the fight.

Yep, I concur. Winky Wright-Fernando Vargas. Recently perhaps Kaas-Jones and Kotelnik-Alexander. Martinez before his big win over Williams and JMM were probably the 2 fighters that had the most fights that should of been victories.

Pea defo came out of that fight with the consensus "W" regardless of the call.
Taylor Vs. Chavez to some might qualify, Meldrick till this day is praised for his effort.

Hopkins won the event against every white man he ever faced. Thats what he tells himself. Without those happy thoughts, he cant get to sleep at night.
