    Lewis is a superheavyweight!!!

Lewis weights. He weight 253 for Rahman I, 246 for Rahman II, 253 for Vitali, 245 for Tua, 247 for Grant, 250 for Botha, 251 for McCall II, 249 for Tyson, and 247 for Mercer.

Compare with Wlad. 247 for Peter II, 240 for Chagaev, 244 for Chambers, 241 for Thompson, 238 for Ibragimov, 246 for Austin, 241 for Brock, 238 for Byrd I, and 243 for Brewster II.

Don't believe me? Look at Boxrec and you'll see.

Lewis weight just the same as the Wlad Klitschko.

Did Lennox Lewis ruin the heavyweight division when he was ruling it?

    I don't think so.

Early in Lennox' career he did come in under 230lbs. He was a tall lean as hell guy who was extremely athletic and fast. Look up the footage of the guy, he was incredible at that weight. "If" there was a superheavyweight division Lennox would have ultimately ended up as a 2 division champ, a HW and a SHW champ. But initially he would have been a normal HW fighter. Which would have been awesome.

Lennox is a freak though, as I said - physically amazing. about 6'5 and started his career off really really light and incredibly athletic and fast. Thats a REAL HW. He then beefed up to be able to fight off guys like Vitali. But thats besides the point.

The Klitschko's are a rare breed., when they retire the hw division will be as you like it.

You just have to wait it out. I'm not saying it will be great, but everything will be much more competive.

K2 are fantastic boxers. These other tall guys have nothing on them.

thats what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was one of the most vicious fights we've recently seen. The HWs have that type of potential but its kind of a wash now that they're all being lined up and sacrificed in the ring by the Klits.

That's not asking much for a professional athlete. They are fat and have been fat their entire pro careers, nothing is changing that.

$$ would change that though. If $ was in a 230lb weight limit division, they'd at least be 230lbs. Which is hell of a lot better than what they typically are.

And you don't seem to realize that back when Joe Louis was champion in the 30s and 40s and weighed around 200 pounds there were just as many in-shape big guys as there are now.

Primo Carnera, Buddy Baer, Abe Simon and on and on ... and he just knocked their asses out like he knocked everyone else out.

How many giant, 250-pound heavyweights are there? The Klitschkos (one of whom is pushing 40), Valuev (who is near retirement), Helenius (who isn't exactly "fit") and Tyson Fury?

    Yeah, that's a "loaded" division.

The Klitschkos' height advantages are magnified because they haven't been in a lot of competitive fights because NEITHER WILL FIGHT THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT in the division -- that being the other brother.

If they fought each other, and we knew who the true number one heavyweight was, much of this "super" heavyweight crap would go away.

Because really they are the ONLY reason this is being discussed. It's not because people think Valuev or Fury is UNBEATABLE.

This has nothing to do with size, Wlad and Vitali are simply too good for the competition.

Look bro, I thinks it's their style that bothers you, am I right?

You want a FIGHT? The division will be like that when they retire, you have to remember Wlad used to fight like a beast before Sanders.....

Manny turned him into the fighter he is today. Lennox, while a bit more versatile had that style too. Which is why it makes me laugh, when people hate on Wlad, but love lennox.

Fights against the K-Brothers was for the biggest $$$ they ever saw in their life and the HW titles, they lost weight, but nothing close to 230.

Well, Wlad was 220 in his pro debut. In 1998, he was 230 lbs.

Wlad was also athletic. Like Lewis, he had a gold medal in the olympics. It was only in the early 2000s when he came in normally at the mid 230s and in the mid 2000s when he came in at the 240s and he never exceeded 250 lbs.

Lewis also was light, but as he grew older, he became heavier, just like guys like Pac move because they become heavier. And he won't be able to 230 late in his career.

So if there is also a superheavy division, Wlad would also become a two weight champion.

My point is that you can't apply different standards to Wlad and Lewis. They are actually very similar. Both are athletic, skilled, tall, talented, and basically, superheavies. They ruled their eras not because their big, but because they are simply better than the competition available.

Criticize the Klitschkos for being too big for the heavyweight division--fine. But criticize Lewis too for the same reason, or you end up looking like someone who mindlessly hates them, which I know you don't.
