Spinks beat Ali when Leon was in only his eighth professional fight. But he was an Olympic champ, and looked like that night, he was carved out of steel. That was his high point. Don't really see him beating anyone else except maybe Bruce Seldon.

"Some say it was the luckiest punch(es) landed in the modern day of the sport."

But what did their seeing eye dogs say?

    "Checkmate"

Oh, come on. Declaring victory after a silly post. Coetzee couldn't miss with his right because Spinks really didn't have that much of a defense for a right. A punch landing on an open fighter is hardly "lucky" and crying lucky is drivel in sports anyway. Also when a guy is KO'd in about one of five fights he had, it doesn't take a "lucky" punch to put him out.

    "Why no rematch?"

Why should hapless losers get a rematch? Why didn't Dempsey rematch Willard? Why didn't Johnson rematch Burns? Why didn't Baer rematch Carnera? Coetzee moved on to fight better guys, none of whom Spinks ever beat.

Maybe the Holyfield from Moorer 1. Or Buster Douglas October 1990 version.

No way Leon would defeat Baer...why, one right hand from Maxie would equal at least 3 by Coetzee...they could count till the janitor cleaned up the empty arena...after everybody went home.

Spinks over the hated, discredited Marciano???? The good Seamus has nipped too much of the cooking sherry.
