   By todays standards you are probably right,but we are talking 56 years ago,ironically Goldstein was the unfortuanate third man in the ring when Griffith had the last fight with Benny Paret,Ruby refereed one more fight and retired.Gene Fullmer went on record as saying he felt responsible for |Parets death ,as he had given him a terrible pounding earlier.
