Starting with my hero holyfield. I think he has the greatest resume of all time but there's still a few names missing. Missing from holyfields resume from the top of my head Tommy Morrison Frank Bruno Oliver McCall Razor ruddock Andrew golota Holmes has loads missing so does bowe so does Frazier. Get naming some more. I know that Ali hardly has any missing. Maybe Eddie machen in the 60s? Maybe clutching at straws in little
Lennox Lewis - A lot of the guys Holyfield fought. Evander Holyfield - A lot of the guys Lewis fought. It was a pretty stacked era. Foreman has a fairly thin resume in the 70s - don't think it was better than Fraziers. Joe Louis should have fought Elmer Ray. Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson missed out on quite a few key challengers. Holmes as you mention missed out on some fighters as well, but like the 90s, it was a pretty stacked era and with the belts switching hands once per week it wasn't really possible for him to fight all of the "top contenders".
Foreman - Quarry, Bonavena Patterson - Folley, Williams, Valdez Marciano - Valdez, Baker Louis - Ray, Bivins (for the title), Franklin Tunney - Sharkey Dempsey - Wills, Godfrey To name a few.
Vitali: Names: Holyfield, Tyson. Contenders: Valuev, Haye, Rahman. (Though he tried to fight many of them). Wlad: Many of the same. LL: Bowe, Foreman And really, pretty much all the other atgs had few truly noteworthy gaps in their resume from not facing a top person until you get back to Floyd Patterson. Unfortunately it will probably continue to be a problem for future hw's though, due to changes in the sport.
Joe Frazier didn't fight 60s Liston Terrell Patterson Folley 70s Norton Lyle Young Shavers Some really big fighters there he missed. By the way in know way am I saying he ducked any of these guys.
