He is protected in the sense that he won’t fight dangerous fighters who aren’t draws but it’s not like he has been in there with the best

Every top fighter is protected by sanctioning body. No he needs to stay competitive and he won’t lose, no one has dominated Canelo beside Mayweather

Wilder is the first that springs to mind.Is it 9 years a pro ? Since winning the title in 2015,who has he faced....Fought a live one in Ortiz in his 40th fight and the ref stopped the beginning of the 8th to check Wilders face that was perfect, was he blind lol.Well he did miss several illegal punches as well.:eusa_doh:
If Canelo gets off with a slap on the wrist. He will be another one...Money talks,as they say.

I almost forgot Stevenson is still a beltholder at Light Heavyweight and -- even more astonishingly -- is the lineal champion at 175 by virtue of his win over Dawson. This pretty much crystalises how irrelevant he has rendered himself and his reign with flagrant cherry picking since dethroning Dawson.

Up until now (scheduled to fight Valdez), you could've also had Scott Quigg as an option for Featherweight. During his time at world level at both 122 and 126 (notably during his reign as IBF Super Bantamweight champion), how often has he fought opponents from the division below?

    Some more names for consideration:

Super Middleweight: Vincent Feigenbutz, Chris Eubank Jr (let's face it: he will be coddled now, until he steps up against a true world level opponent and invariably falls short again).
    Middleweight: Demetrius Andrade.
    Welterweight: Conor Benn.
    Light Welterweight: Anthony Yigit.

He could fight Joshua, get ktfo and he would still be declared the winner.

Yes, but in all fairness the majority of boxing fans believe he really LOST to GGG Lara & Trout as well as being punked by Froid
