The only elite fighter Roy beat is Toney. If you want to go back and have revisionist history then you might could add Bhop but at the time they fought Bhop was nowhere near the fighter he is today or became after the Roy fight.
Agreed, beating one elite fighter doesnt mean much, anyone with even a litlte talent can look good fighting bums for 9 years.
I'm sure by 'elite' you probably mean HOF instead of top-rated fighter or champion(as elite is supposed to refer)
Dont be a tool all your life, The casual fan might think khan was good but most boxing fans knew that khan would be found out as soon as he fought a half decent fighter who could punch and take a punch.
How about you look at the divisions they dominated in ! If you have to ask such a question why bother discussing them if you don't know ! And that comment about looking good against bums well for Roy after he beat Hopkins when was the last time Bhop lost ? It was against Jermain Taylor !They don't fight bums they make em look like bums !Most recent example Hopkins /Pavlik !
Name one elite fighter calzaghe beat? And don't say hopkins. Slapping a guy for 12 rounds doesn't give u the win.
Using "elite" in reference to top-rated fighters and champions RJJ beat: Antonio Tarver John Ruiz Clinton Woods Montell Griffin James Toney Bernard Hopkins Virgil Hill (Tito is future HOF although he was way past prime) These are all opponents (except Tito) who went on to gain or regain their championship status and some (Hopkins and Tarver have gained more status since their loss against RJJ)
When I see stuped british posters I am ashamed to say I come from the same part of the world as you do. Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr are two of the greatest fighters of this generation, and they are two fighters who could wipe the floor with many ATG's from previous generation, for you to question there greatness is embarassing.
