Calzaghe would obviously beat the sick and injured version of Pavlik that BHop fought. Hopkins of course had no way of knowing that KP would come in at significantly less than 100%. Bernard had every reason to believe he would face the same man who dethroned his nemesis, and then beat him in the rematch.

There in lies the difference between Hopkins and Slappy Joe . . . . .

Hopkins called Kelly out once, and beat him.
slappy called Kelly out for 6 months, and when KP said yes, Joe ran the other way.
