Two bouts that followed similar patterns, to the point of being almost identical...past or present. Take any scenario you like...examples below... ...two bouts with similar 1st rounds, and ended in 2nd round KO's. Or, two bouts with one boxer pretty much dominating the first six rounds, then the opponent comes back strong winning the next 6 rounds. Or, back and forth bouts... Or, DQ's...following similar patterns leading upto said DQ... :good
If you havn't noticed, you seem to be rescuing my threads today. :good They actually are very similar bouts, Williams maybe having slightly more success than Hatton though.
Lol. It's because your threads are the only ones that interest me. They make me sit and think, unlike the Pacquia-Mayweather ones
Jorge Castro vs John David Jackson Julian Jackson vs Herol Graham In both fights one fighter was comfortably ahead(J.D Jackson and Graham) only for the other fighter(Castro and J. Jackson) to turn it around with one big shot.
I would say JT fought better in the second part. They weren't as similar as people make them out to be imo though I could be wrong. From what I remember, JT looked better in the second half of the second fight than he did in the second half of the first fight.
Froch v Taylor. Abraham v Taylor. In terms of outcome, they are almost perfect (well both stoppages were 12 seconds to go if I remember rightly)...Taylor having more success against Froch.
Yeah, I think you're right. I haven't watched the fights for a while, but I seem to remember JT doing better the second time round.
I was going to name that, too! But I thought Froch's encounter was more competitive, with him being knocked down on the way. I may aswell throw in JMM-Diaz and JMM-Katsidis. Both wars, that ended with JMM forcing a stoppage in the 9th rounds.
Kevin Kelley v Prince Naseem Hamed. Marcos Maidana v Victor Ortiz. Not identical, but similar back and forth bouts. The loser having the greater success, including KD(s) before being worn down by power.
