Ok it does now you've explained it. You got me on a technicality because I always just think British, not English, because I dont have anything against or dont even generally think about Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

never said you were racist. i dont think you are. but you putting emphasis on amir khans race and macklins race. amir khan epecially lives in uk has uk citizenship therefore should represent the uk. when you live in a multi country country like most of europe and america race goes out the window its what officially is said on documents and what achoices people make that counts.

Oh and my said friend always refers to himself as Irish, but thats because of his religion and last time I check religion had absolutely 0% sway on whether anything is official. At least it shouldn't have, maybe it does in Ireland but thats a form of corruption in my eyes and should be allowed.

That is his nationality, you idiot. Ethnically, he is a Spaniard. You are aware that over 90% of the population of Argentina are of unmixed European heritage, yes??? :-(

Similarly, I am an American but since I am not an indigenous American (ie a "Native American") my heritage must therefore trace back to somewhere else (Europe, in my case). The same applies to Sergio.

    And we can't claim Spaniards?

Even though 95% of Latinos are of Spanish blood?

Amir Khan is well within his rights to fight for Britain as he is a British citizen/national. But IMO he is not TRULY BRITISH as his parents are both Pakistani.

Who is we??? If you are an Englishman, how can you claim a Spaniard??

Martinez is a Spaniard, not a mestizo. Do you know the difference?

He's Cuban. I think he'd have to be pretty ignorant not to know the difference.

I'm Cuban, but of full Spanish blood.

But I've seen and heard other Latinos claim fighters that are not of their country, alot of my mates are Colombian and everytime theres a Latino fighting they go by "he's Latino, he's one of us" regardless of where he's from. And some are white as snow, other's black as coal (not being racist).

So why can't we "claim" (for the lack of a better term) Spaniards?

    Cool!

I am not racist as well, nor do I consider you a racist. But when I point out that some fighters are of 100% Spanish blood and thus of European ancestry(not a mestizo ect), irrespective of their country of origin like Sergio Martinez, they accuse of me being trying to "claim" a Hispanic fighter for "one of my own." :-(

    Cheers, brother!
    Hoops
PS- You can absolutely claim Sergio Martinez!

Ok, let me try and understand you. If one or both of you parents are not British then you can not be considered British. And since you are not British then any childern you might have cannot be British and they in turn would not be able to have British childern. Brother I have bad news for you, if what you say is true the British no not exist. Stick to boxing you diplomacy is seriously flaud.

And if your Hispanic that's perfectly fine!

Now as a "British Cuban" I can't claim Wladimir Klitschko since we have absolutly nothing common origin wise.

Otherwise everyone from any country with Spanish origins are fair game.

    Understand?
