I honestly cant say for K-1 as I dont watch enough kickboxing of any kind. Boxing - Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz close runners up would be Andre Berto vs Luis Collazo, Jean Pascal vs Adrian Diaconu and Carl Froch vs Jermain Taylor. MMA - Miguel Torres vs Takeya Mizugaki and my 3 runners up like I had for boxing would be Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez, Randy Couture vs Minotauro Nogueira and Urijah Faber vs Mike Brown II
BOXING: Sugar Shane Mosley vs Antonio Margarito MMA: Randy Couture vs Minotauro Nogueira K1: I have to take a pass on this. I'm behind in watching K1 this year.
Now believe me I have reason to enjoy Mosley-Margarito but man its not FOTY there was not a competitive moment in that fight unless you Margaritos head smashing into Mosleys right and left glove as punches for him.
Jimmie - I won't argue that Diaz/Marquez wasn't more competitive - but the topic title says "your favorite fights of 2009" and Mosley/Margarito was my favorite fight. I even watched it back to back with Marquez/Diaz just to make sure. There were moments when Margarito started to come on and seemed like he might work his way in and steamroll Shane like he did Cotto and Mosley turned it up that extra notch to beat him back down. It was the greatest performance of the year and my personal favorite.

Marquez/Diaz, Pascal/Diaconu Nog/Couture: Rewatched it the other day and it was 10x better than watching it on a stream with no sound. Great fight. Arguably one of the best fights in UFC history. Top 10-15.
