No. AM and SSM were options when the Pac/FMJ fight didn't get signed a few mos ago. IMO, big egos killed that fight. This time around, depending on what reports you believe to be true, taxes or no negotiations ever took place was reported.

Mosley hits stronger than Pac simply because he swings his hands far out so it is easy for anyone to read it.

Pac on the other hand shoots short hard shots and only cocks when he follow up his combos.

Floyd might be thinking 3 fighters that Pac has fought that made him think about fighting him:

1. Hatton - that blind-side left bomb that when thrown will hit a target that is a lot heavier than most of what Mosley have thrown. Like what Mike Tyson said, he will probably fall also when hit with that punch coming out of nowhere.

2. Cotto - Look at the first knock down of Cotto by Pac. It is almost exactly the same as what Mosley have thrown against Floyd. Left hand to the body, then, a hook upstairs with his right. If that right can fall Cotto, Floyd might be thinking what if he is in there knowing Cotto is probably the same size or bigger than him.

3. Judah - Just look at the several straight lefts thrown by Judah at the center of the body during the early rounds. He made Floyd confused. Floyd over protects his pretty face too much. A southpaw can take advantage of that. Furthermore, Judah throws a 1 or a 1-2. Pac throws 1-2 or 1-2-3 combos a lot more and to the side of the body too that allows him to create openings upstairs.

 

Now I am not a huge Mayweather fan, I respect his skill in the ring BUT I gotta say this is an excellent post! I agree fully!!!

 

As bad as Mosley looked and he looked freaking gassed, he is Mosley after all. Christ, he wasn't a bum no matter how gassed he was, and PBF knew he'd get some licks by Mosley's hands so I don't put any stock in the idea that PBF is gun shy because he got rocked by Mosley. On the other hand I believe PBF had really been frightened by Pac after Cotto. ODH and Hatton could have been written off as ODH being older and Hatton as a freak KO occurrence. Cotto, on the other hand was a systematic beat down of a proper fighter, and that's more than made him doubt himself.

 

Nanny is at the tail end of his career too.....ringwise he's had LOTS more wear and tear.

 

Cotto had already been destroyed by Tony and was never all that in the first place.
