Had Akeem not died young after the thrilling FOTY in 1991 which he lost narrowly to Robert Quiroga(he actually died a bit later, but had to get a blood clot removed after this fight and was never against sanctioned to fight), how do you think his skills would've done for him against another more technically skilled boxer/puncher in Nana Konadu?

Anyone know how tall Kid Akeem was?

    Wasn't Akeem a hair under 6 feet?

That would be incredible for a 115 pounder. I'd be surprised if he were that tall. Konadu looked quite tall at about 5'6 1/2.

edit: Just checked. He was 5'8, which is about what I'd have estimated.

I swear to god I saw him pegged as 5'10, maybe it even being mentioned during the fight itself.

    Guess not.

I also thought he was closer to 6' than he actually was. Akeem was freakish, and for a while I thought he might be the next little big thing. I know Quiroga was thinking about quitting not long after the fight. Akeem's condition affected him quite badly.

I'd like to answer your post, but I don't know much about Konadu unfortunately.

And Pepsi said Tyson was the 6' man of Iron....

Kid Akeem was fun, I overrated Konadu, at the time I figured him as the 115lbs version of Tyson, and would of taken to take out Kid Akeem.

Sadly, Akeem and his opponent for that fight of the year (Quiroga) died young as well.
