I remember after Naoya Inoue’s brutal first fight with Nonito Donaire, this forum was really concerned about his broken orbital bone. A lot of people thought this might be the end his career as fighters rarely come back the same from those type of fractures. He’s had eight fights since then including a moderately tough and competitive fight against Marlon Tapales and a knockdown against Nery. Other than that, he’s mostly steamrolled his opposition with relative ease. So, looking back on it now, how do you guys think he’s recovered from the orbital fracture? He certainly hasn’t been in any type of war similar to his fight with Donaire, but he also hasn’t shown any signs of being compromised, either.
Remember what happened the last time your hero went up against a little guy? LOL The middleweight stops Fury in the rematch. Man, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in your mom's basement while you were watching Fury get pummeled around the ring in the 9th. I bet the entire basement reeked of shat.
IIRC, he didn't require surgery on it so the severity of the injury wasn't as bad as some other orbital fractures are albeit still a serious injury and one which reduced him to a Japanese cyclops during the fight which unfortunately for him occurred in his toughest fight, against his best opponent, and the biggest puncher he's faced
He did just get dropped by a guy he was 30-1 to beat. Maybe there are some lingering effects from those beefy left hooks of a 39 year old Nonito.
I had my lower orbital smashed kickboxing in 07 which required surgery. I was a young amateur and doctors advised I called it a day I listened
