"But it's the same when meeting any fighter for the first time, there's always something new to contend with. I think it'll be similar to the Omar Narvaez fight in terms of intensity. McDonnell is a good opponent to have for my first bantamweight fight. McDonnell is a tough fighter but

    Won't be surprised at all.
Can be a bodyshot or a lights out to the chin or temple one...

Body shot for sure a strong likelihood.

No chance. Naoya's body punches are like butterfly kisses.

He has that lean and mean body that probably benefits from the extra pounds rather than jumping up diminishing his power. The big question is how he'll get close to BIG, BIG McDonnell, who's tough, rugged and can handle himself. The body is certainly what I'd target, but as witnessed in the Higa or Taguchi fights recently, these Jap cats have holes in the D, especially on offense, so there's a scenario where the weight jump, the height different and the occasion is just too much the Jamie shows off some damn fine skills for 12.

But admittedly, there's the chance that Inoue possesses the protomolecule and goes Ganymede on McDonnell. Beltalowda!

McDonnell has been dead at the weight for years. He’s 5’10” it’s so unhealthy for him to still be making this weight.

Thing is, big punchers moving up in weight don't always hold the power, and McDonnell is a big lump. A huge bantamweight. If weight-making is going as good as Coldwell says (big if) then I could see Naoya surprised at what he lamps off McDonnell's skull.

Bodyshot, yeah, that could happen, but I see this going a bit longer maybe.

McDonnell will be looking to become the no1 bantamweight i'd not be shocked if he wins this fight.Naoya can punch but McDonnell can take a punch ive also seen McDonnell get up off the deck & win.

Jamie is tough as nails, and controls range quite well, it wouldn't shock me in the least if he not only sees the final bell, but pulls the upset. And I love Inoue, but McDonnell is NO PUSHOVER. This will be as impressive as Lomachenko moving up and beating a much much larger Ponomarev or Peterson.

As far as I can recall, British boxers have a pretty awful record fighting in Japan. I think Jamie gets stopped, and that looooong torso is begging for it to be with a body shot...
