Naoya Inoue vs Guillermo Rigondeaux

Prime Rigo either comes close to blanking Inoue, does blank him, or takes his head off. Rigo's style is all wrong for Inoue's style and pretty much any come forward style besides Loma's.

 

A prime Pac didn't exist at 122 or below. He was very limited at those weights.

 

He was prime physically. That was where he had the most physical advantages, speed and power relative to his competition.

An equivalent of him at WW would be someone sized like Spence, but way way more power and speed relative the competition at the weight.

He would have overwhelmed Rigo.

 

Are we talking about prime Rigo or current Rigo ?

If it's about prime Rigo, I don't think Inoue has the slightest chance to beat him. Rigo is a rare talent with elite class technical level and speed. I remember that he was the most feared champion in lower class and probably mostly ducked. He was in P4P list.

But if it's about current Rigo, maybe Inoue has the bigger chance to win. But don't really think he can hurt or knock him out easy. Rigo seems to keep his fitness during his inactivity judging from his last come back fight as he was looking sharp.

 

Inoue wipes out Rigo anytime.

 

Interestingly the WBA has Rigondeaux ranked #2 at Bantamweight.

Rigo was outsized vs Loma (& they put words in Rigo's mouth, Rigo did not Quit vs Lima, Bob Arum funny business)

 

I would love to see this fight in the near future, if Rigo's soul isn't still lost in the Matrix.

Styles make fights. And I think Inoue would be able to beat Rigo at this stage.

 

I think people are underrating what Rigo can do. He is one of those complete fighters that never shows the crowd what they want. Inoue on the other hand is the opposite but also a complete fighter and gives the fans what they want.

Rigo makes fights easy for himself and gives his opponents a boxing clinic. I think he should have fought at 118 in the pro's he just wanted the names at 122 who all ran away from apart from Donaire. He never did himself any favours and neither did his promoters.

 

HAHAHA. That could be one of the reasons why Inoue has decided to sign with Top Rank.

 

Rigo would have given him a boxing lesson

 

Rigondeaux still has a lot of explosiveness in that left hand. I'd favor Inoue but only by a slight margin. Its really a fight that Inoue should steer clear of.

 

Rigs is fighting at the bantamweight limit in a few weeks to see how he takes the cut. Inoue blows him out if he stands in like he did in that last fight. He would need to use his boxing for Inoue, and make sure he can wear his preferred type of glove.
