His record at 118 was devastating? He beat an old robotic, midget Sydorenko, a midget Montiel, and a midget Narvaez. Narvaez the smallest of the three, a 115 pounder went the full distance. Donaire was steered clear of Moreno, and the four in the Bantam Tourney, Mares, Perez, Agbeko, and Darchinyan. Moreno, and Agbeko would have given Donaire problems with their boxing.
He popped Burnetts oblique with a left rip to the body, he can break jaw and put dents on fighters at 118.
Apparently it was a tear. Nonito hits very hard but not that hard lol ''My assessments have been completed, and diagnosed that I have torn muscle fibers in my right internal oblique, where a portion of the muscle has also detached from the bone where it inserts."
Good, he beat 40 year old Narvaez. That did impress me though. It rose an eye brow. Shame he didn't join the 118 tourney. Can't really comment on how devastating he would be against Mares or Agbeko but I am confident he probably could cause havoc on this lot lol. We will never know. I see your point.
There's no power advantage at higher classes mate, more weight behind punches lands on more weight, evening things out (except for HW). Ricardo Lopez, Rafa Marquez, young Pac/Chocolatito or the fighters discussed: plenty of one-punch power with proper footing and technique. Think guns: a .50 caliber bullet can take limbs clean off. It's all concentrating that power into one spot, and ppl. will fall. But hell yeah: Inoue lands some of the loudest body shots in boxing... and some of the most brutal ones I can recall. Boyeaux impossibly survived a perfect Inoue counter that dropped right on his jaw and bravely got up... to get brutalized by body shots to submissin. The scream in pain! Dang!!! Yeah I know that but I don't recall ever seeing any boxer other than him punch a dent in someone's head lol I remember that very well, that left hook was a thing of beauty and the body shot was an absolute sickener and it's the only time Boyeaux has been stopped in 51 fights so it's not like he's lacking in the durability department Another absolutely savage puncher from the leprechaun divisions This content is protected
Speaking of little Japs and lethal power... whatever happened to Daigo Higa? I know he's been disgraced in Japan for not making weight and killing himself to do so had little left in him and got stopped... but so young and so powerful... where's Daigo Higa?
Main reason lighter fighters don't hit as hard is because of strength. Heavyweights tend to be a lot stronger. The head and neck as a percentage of body weight becomes a lot lower at heavyweight. So when a heavyweight punch hits the head, it becomes a lot easier to transfer the force. Holyfield had a tree trunk roided neck at heavyweight. In terms of actually generating force, lighter fighters can generate a lot. A study on punching power of Olympic boxers had the 112 fighters punch almost as hard as the heavyweights in peak force.

Likely is still suspended by the JBC, otherwise him regaining his license would most definitely have made the news. Fortunately, he is still quite young. But it's best to stay away from the pro ring if the desire is not there.
Yeah there's no point if it's not in his blood. But a tune-up can't hurt. Clearly, weight was the big issue, should feel fresh at 118.
Nonito is a warrior but he’s definitely past prime and it going to hear the final bell, at least not on his feet. Prime Nonito was a different story. He was a tough guy in his prime and would have given Inoue trouble at one time. Those days are long gone.
Naoya certainly knows how to break down and finish opponents emphatically. With his precision, body punching exquisite timing, placement and delivery of his vaunted punches. Something Donaire lacks. He misses a lot! But power wise Donaire is within the same realm of devastation to the monster if it connects on their unfortunate foes.
