Ryoto Murata vs. Jesse Nicklow, 10 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Tough kid but he always takes a licking at this level.

 

Round 1

Murata is jabbing through Nicklow's gloves and placing 1-2s when they split apart. Big left hooks on the body from outside by Murata. Nicklow is standing his ground, throwing single jabs and lead rights into Murata's guard to back him off, but unable to consistently press the advantage. Murata doubles a jab into Nicklow's gloves, loops a right nearly around them, and digs a hard left hook downstairs.

The broadcast started half an hour ago but they only showed a bunch of concert performances and in-studio blather prior to Murata vs. Nicklow ring walks.

Linares vs. Prieto & Inoue vs. Narvaes (the younger brothers) occurred before the broadcast, non-televised.

 

Round 2

Murata is throwing away quick double jabs and looping hard rights into Nicklow's dome. Nicklow responds in kind, and even digs his feet into the canvas to drop heavy left hooks on Murata's body. Murata has too much firepower and is able to force Nicklow to reset clumsily, floating around him landing power combos to head and body.

Round 3

Murata is throwing jabs, rights, and hooks, in that order, all while shuffling laterally and in and out, mixing up his attack to head and body. Nicklow is hunkering down and dipping and weaving inside, keeping an incisive left jab in Murata's face in doubles and triples and looping in his own right hands. Murata is shuffling back and loading up on big power shots on the body.
