    Assuming:
Inoue doesn't have to make 118
    Inoue actually weighs roughly 135
    Duran weighs 135

I think this is a great match up. He is a fantastic boxer-puncher who leans towards counterpunching with the ability to in-fight, he pressures his opponents, he has insane power, a great chin, great stamina and great speed. Who am I talking about? Both of them, of course.
I get that Inoue is still growing and still has a lot to prove (compared to Duran), but he does have an underrated resume, and when you have two phenomenal boxer-punchers who double as some of the best KO artists ever, I just have to talk about it.

Hagler had like 25 pounds on Inoue while Duran and Inoue are maybe around the same weight. If you can't buy Inoue coming into the ring at 135, just bump Inoue's size to Duran's size.

    No.

I agree that more attention needs to be paid to real weights but a 23-0 bantam taking on that animal is not the right place to start.

Duran fought Hagler so by your own pseudo logic the question is not unfathomable.

Duran fought Haggler at 160, not at 135

This is going way overboard now. There's weight classes for a reason. You can't compare a 118 lber that's naturally a much smaller guy to a world class 135 lber, especially someone like Duran. C'mon now... :ohno

Naoya Inoue vs Ruben Olivares or Carlos Zarate is more appropriate.

Inoue and Duran and about the same size. The middleweights today are closer to Micheal Spinks in weight then Hagler.

Same size according to who? Duran had the body frame and size to go from 135 - 160 lbs. Inoue is only 5'5, I doubt he would even be able to fight at 135 lbs.

He already fights at 130-135lbs on fight night? What are you on about. Regardless of his frame size Duran made 135lbs and so would Inoue in Roberto’s time.

The lightweight version of Duran was already tight at the weight without having to make bantamweight a day before fighting. This is yet another case of a false equivalency being made on the forum.
Naoya is closer to 130 than 135, but even a larger bantamweight who was 135 on fight night cannot compare to a classical lightweight in size.

Inoue vs SBW Erik Morales would be a good scrap. Favor Morales by TKO.
