Agree, I have a feeling it's going to resemble Inoue-Payano. I love TJ, but he's damned easy to hit, and I doubt Naoya will have trouble finding the perfect range and when he does, it won't last long. Danny Roman and Mick Conlan dropped TJ, Inoue might knock him spark out.

 

He's fought here a few times, still not sure where this narrative that he's scared to go on the road comes from. So I doubt it. If the difference in pay was that stark, I don't doubt he'd leap at the chance.

 

Maybe I can offer you a quantum of solace, while yes... Doheny like Payano is a southpaw, Nery is also a southpaw. So there's a small possibility that Naoya will be skittish early about suffering another knockdown, even though he's convinced himself that it was a balance shot, and I pretty much agree. Still, he doesn't want to risk throwing himself off balance again either. Not much to hang your hat on though.
