honestly well done to doheny and team. i personally think he has no chance...but the sport isnt built on winning it's built on performances and fighters you have fought. to get this fight is exceptional. also...career 122lber and even fought as 130 once. agaisnt a guy who has moved up and got dropped in his last fight. while TJ is maybe not a monster puncher but he can crack. you'd think he has some routes to victory.

also kudos to recamp his last 3 fights in japan is a really interesting way of getting attention. winning in straya, ireland or a bill in the states or mid-east was only going to keep the engine running. but going all in with the asia-pacific route while in japan. *chefs kiss*.

Even worse, he fought 45 y/o Gamboa not to mention all the catchweights and rehydration clauses and the fact that - literally - he never fought a LW champion despite being surrounded by Teo, Haney, Shakur, and Loma. And now, 8 years later, he's considering fighting 40 y/o Loma.

Par for course for the fighter and par for the course for the fan. You only like fighters w melanin.

Why is Inoue ducking Mr Mandatory Sam Goodman for a guy in Doheny who Goodman already dominated?

Didn't Goodman break his hand recently?

Yeah in a fight he took to keep busy because Inoue opted for Doheny.

Nah Inoue Dohney has been mooted for at least a couple months now.

Inoue will take TJ out around the 5th. Fair play to TJ for getting the fight but he has no chance.

I'm honestly a little worried for Doheny. A merciful KO1 blitz is probably best case scenario for bro's health.

3 fights in less than 9 months. Inoue is fighting more than most champions today. It's not a good fight, but again at least he's remaining active. Decent chance he could be back out again in Dec-Jan as well.

Cant tell if srs or not? Gamboa was shot to all hell and Donaire was doing well, earned his shot in the 118 playoff. The rematch happened because of how good Donaire did in the original fight

The difference in class is as vast as the difference in video quality / production value. The matchup with Goodman was as bad as something can get before crossing beyond the pale. This goes further.

I believe that Inoue wanted to fight in September, but Goodman wanted a fight in Australia in July and then the Inoue fight in December. Rather than wait around for Goodman, Inoue decided to fight Doheny in September.
