The Duran that beat Leonard vs the Napoles that beat Griffith?

This is about as even a match as one could ask for. Both combatants adept offensively and defensively. Duran wouldn't be able to bully Napoles like he did Leonard. Napoles the counterpuncher had the power to make him pay. I could see a case for either man winning on points. However, if Duran landed cleanly on the thin-skinned Napoles and inflicted a cut, Duran will be like the shark smelling blood, thus paving the way for a Duran TKO. I'm leaning that way personally.

How big a problem was Napoles' skin?

He was stopped 3 times (all 4 if you count the Monzon fight) on account of it.

Always liked Duran on this one, a strength issue tbh, disrupts that rythm of Napoles, which it must be said is no ****ing joke.

Unless he gets a bad cut Napoles edges it out down the stretch winning the late rounds with his more efficient economical style (pacing)

Napoles cutting problem is well over-egged, he was stopped 3 times out of 88 fights. But until the age of 30 was only stopped on cuts once after a long career of facing top contenders, the skin will cut after more fights and when you age. He didn't cut against Monzon though. Let's say he has a good cutman with adrenaline and avitene anyway

yeah, I think personally that both men actually hold some type of kryptonite for one another, I'm in work sciving now though so can't really get deep into it, good post PP, I'll explain later if I get the chance, an intriguing fight. I do have Duran but good post.

Ah, the old "Napoles gets cut" refrain works every time. The Cuban Henry Cooper loses yet another one. He's got an almost perfect record in these mythical matches...he must be 49-0 in tko defeats.
