ESPN Classic ran Griffith vs Andy Heilman last night from 1969. Griffith looked pretty sharp, although granted not against an ATG. Within the previous year and a half he'd split fights with Benvenuti, beat Gypsy Joe Harris, Hayward among others.
I'm not surprised that the great Napoles beat him, just by the wide margin. Boxrec lists Griffith's weight for that fight as 144 1/2. Why would he come in 2 1/2 pounds under the limit? Were weight problems an issue? If anybody saw Napoles - Griffith I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I saw some tapes a long time ago....can't remember if I saw the whole fight.

I do remember Griffith had moved back down in weight and looked lethargic against what Napoles was throwing at him.

Napoles was just a lot better that night.

Thanks. Given the scorecards, that's quite an impressive win.
