There has never truly been a valid argument to discredit Bhop for the Trinidad win. Never.

Tito and Hops were around the same height and weight during the fight. Nard is barely taller than Tito. Joppy would disagree with anyone that says Tito didn't have KO power at 160.

Hopkins win over Tito is underrated. At one time it was overrated but through time the win has been really diminished. Middleweight was not Tito's BEST weight by any stretch, but nevertheless Trinidad was still very effective and also at his physical peak. He possessed P4P punching power which only seemed to improve as he moved up in weight. And he also annihilated a prime Joppy in 5 rounds.. while just recently a certain supermiddleweight title holder struggled to stop a shot version in what.. 10 rounds? :yep

And to top it off.. it wasn't even prime Hopkins that did a paintjob on Tito.

Don't see how you can say tito was a devastating puncher at 154 and than act as if at 160 he had average to less power. those few pounds won't make that much of a difference and it's hard to make a case otherwise. he ko'd a legit contender at mw one fight prior to bhops and than only had one fight after before retiring for the first time. than he takes off a lot of time and can't be at his best on his return. although he likely had more explosiveness at 147 and 154, his overall power wouldn't change that much.

I'm not saying hops beat a legit atg mw because we can't say that. But tito had shown he was good enough at mw just one fight prior. hops had some physical advantages, but it wasn't huge. if hops had some type of mystical unfair advantage at mw, he would have more early ko's. hops is just a crafty, very tough fighter.

hops over tito to me is probably slightly more impressive than fmj over dlh IMO. dlh altho enjoying a strength and reach advantage didn't look all that explosive and quick vs fmj. tito was undeniably at the top of his game if a little out of his ideal weightclass. it's close.

it was a great win for Hopkins, IT was the biggest win of hopkins career he said it himself. Trinidad was a monster sure, but he was only 70% the monster that he was at 147lbs no questions about it. Trinidad was out of his element at 160lbs, William Joppy getting KTFO aside, Tito lost alot of speed agility and timing. To me he just looked sluggish at 160lbs and in all honesty he looked in AWFUL physical conditioning in the Hopkins fight in particular. I'm not taking anything away from Hopkins, He would have beaten Tito every single time.

His speed wasn't 100 percent there, but everything else I thought looked fine.
