Just saw the knockout again and Shane really ****ed him up. Those hooks he was throwing were making Margos head go from one side of the ring to the other side before getting the last shot to end it. Sugar looked like a mini prime Apollo Creed.
Just like Pacquiao was exposed after Morales I and Mosley after Forrest twice and Hopkins after Taylor twice and Calzaghe after Brewer..., the list goes on and on...., let's me remind you that those 4 exposed fighter: Pacquiao, Mosley, Hopkins and Calzaghe are all in the top10 p4p. I guess it's ok after all to be consider exposed or shot by follow esb member :deal! You guys will NEVER learn :hi:!
No way is he finished. He had a bad night and Mosley was just to good for him.But he will be back,i just hope he works on defence skills for a while.
None of the four fighters you mention took a validated BEATING like Margarito did last night. None of the four fighters you mentioned were reduced to not throwing a single punch for fear of being hit, in the final, knockout, round. You saw margarito come out in a shell in round 9, afraid to throw a punch for fear of being countered and countered HARD. Not a single punch. Shane had beaten him into a shell. Even when Forrest was knocked out by Mayorga, Forrest did not suffer a sustained beating wherein he was reduced to a shell, balled up and scared to fight back. This is the man who beat Mosely twice but in no way did he give Mosley the sustained beating that Mosley gave Margarito. I thought Hopkins was robbed in the first fight with Taylor, as did many. Hopkins suffered no loss of courage, nor did he lose his will to fight back in either fight. Margarito did. In short, NONE of the fighters you mention were beaten into a balled up mass of defenseless punching bags as Margarito was last night. Up until last night Margarito got by winning fights by taking punishment. We saw last night that you cannot win fights while using your face as fists. Sooner or later someones gonna come along and give more than you can take........that happened. Rather than back off and say to himself, " I can't hurt this guy" Shane Mosley committed to battering Margarito with hard shots each and everytime the opportunity presented itself, and if you watch any of Margaritos fights, that opportunity presents itself early and extremely frequently. This is what Cotto should have done, but didn't. Margarito will fight again........it will be for money and not glory. This fight did him in, unless something changes and he becomes a boxer with the basic fundamentals. I doubt he will win a rematch with Cotto, but he will fight for the money. I dont see a Paul Williams rematch taking place, ever. The Pacman fight would be a dissection with another fighter Margarito can't hit while sustaining a beating from yet another smaller, faster hard hitting fighter.....so he won't want that fight. I'm certain he'll think twice about calling Mayweather out ever again. After last night, everyone and their brother will want a piece of Margarito due to knowing he's easily beatable with a sustained attack and boxing ability. I'm sure Cotto is chomping at the bit right now. It's over.
It's well documented that I'm a big Margarito fan, but even I don't think Antonio can come back from that. It's one thing coming back from a loss, but coming back from 9 rounds of brutality is something different entirely. Mosley was sitting down on every punch and sometimes loading up, and still landing cleanly. Margarito took more punishment last night, than most fighters do during a whole career. I don't want Antonio to fight on.
Your talk about the footwork and coming straight forward and not knowing what an angle is something I stressed for a loooonnngggg time...guys like aztek warrior and the fox just don't get that Tony is limited....He fights 1 way...guys like mosley, mayweather, berto, collazo are all good boxers....they have plans a through f if plan a dont work they can try plan b and c and so on..Tony has plan a and if that dont work hes a done fighter!
Last night was a career ending performance by Margarito. Let us go back in time to Alexis Arguello vs Aaron pryor II This is what you saw last night.
