Not too impressive, given that Omar was 3-2 going in and that one of those stoppages was a sixth round KO, but the wins keep on coming for the WBO strap-holder. I've pretty much given up on his taking on any of the top men or trying to unify, he is the wrong age for that type of thing I guess...that's a great shame, because he has some interesting attributes and I'd love to see him tested at that level. Anyway, here are the last two rounds, the whole fight is on for anyone who is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf15p2c5IcU
It was a boring fight all the way. Narvaez seemed to be in the other league compared to this mini flyweight guy from Mexico but he just didn't want to let his hands go even a bit until the end. Narvaez is possibly #1 flyweight now along with Pong, given Donaire is moving up in weight.
well he is emulating Pong's career by not fighting the big fights.....maybe he can lose his title to Naito?
I watched the whole fight. Narvaez pretty much just wore him down. Narvaez is a weird fighter. Very awkward, punches from both stances, weird angles, punches off the wrong foot occasionally. Nice upper body movement at times, he's been watching his countryman Locche I think! I don't think he'd be a threat to Donaire though, don't think he punches hard enough or has enough speed, plus I wouldn't be confident his style of defence holds up against the 'Filipino Flash' speed.
He burnt some bridges in the U.S and Australia. Who cares about Australia but Im not totally confident we will ever see him fight in the States. He wont get a fight in Japan with that title...He took care of a lot of the better flyweights in Europe..who arent particularly good anyway. So Im not sure what his options are there. Its a shame...He is quite a good fighter..I think he is starting to fade a little though and he may not be around for much longer.
