Nas lost because he came up against a world class technical fighter with a good chin. He never got the one punch KO he had managed to always find in his previous thirty odd fights, and with his defence he won't ever win a points decision.
i'm a huge tyson fan who picks him h2h against other ATG's, but this prime hamed with ingle beats everyone nonsense on here at esb, is worse than the prime tyson with rooney/d'amato beats everyone talk.
Hamed was exposed completely in the Barrera fight, in fact hes been long exposed before that fight, Kevin Kelley and Augie Sanchez exposed Hamed as someone with only limited boxing skills but made the mistake of thinking it will be an easy fight by going for the finish, Barrera made sure not to make the same mistake these guys did.
Where's Napolean when you need him... **** NASEEM HAMED! Na, but history will remember that as soon as Hamed lost (to the very first really GOOD fighter he faced), he quit. Did Barrera quit after Jones? No, he went on to greatness. That's the difference.
If truth be told, MAB got beat both ways by "Poison" Junior Jones. MAB brawled and got KTFO the first time...... ......and MAB fought much the same way that he fought Rocky Juarez in that rematch, and Jones outboxed him anyway. The difference between MAB and Hamed in that stage in there careers where they both lost is that MAB was competitive and in the fight both times vs Jones..... .....Hamed was completely clueless in against a great fighter in MAB. Somebody already mentioned it, but its true that MAB was the first complete great fighter that Hamed had fought that still had alot left in the tank.......and he was absolutely clueless as to how to counteract anything that MAB was doing. The truth is that Hamed was blessed with quickness and power, but he had very little else......the fact that Hamed has'nt been heard from again speaks to his own confidence in his ability. Imo, I believe after the MAB fight, Hamed realized he just was'nt in that level and hung his head with no desire to make himself better. HYPE is what Hamed was!
**** Naseem Hamed. divac, did'nt jmm get his most avoided moniker years back when hamed (as well as morales and MAB) hardly mentioned him, when he was hamed's manditory? JMM would have given him a worse beating than the one barrera administered.
I think it had something to do with his comeback fight. He seemed to realise that his awe of invincibility had gone and so had his flamboyant entrances (didn't quite mean the same) so there wasn't really anything left. This was reflected in his performance and he stunk the place out.
