A lot of showboating, I loved it.

Why don't more boxers box like that? It's the best and the most entertaining boxing style

I think they both deserve to be ranked highly on every ATG list. They're both extremely underrated, especially Naseem because of that one loss (against a legit ATG) when he was hardly giving a damn anymore and it wasn't a "schooling" that some people claim it was.

    Firstly. It was a schooling.

Secondly. Hamed relied too much on his reflexes, and power ( forgetting everything he learned on the way up ) as did Jones. They slowed, so he got out. Probably Jones should have as well, rather than disgrace himself in such an embarrassing fashion.

Great to watch while it worked, but pure sh, ite when it went wrong in both cases.

I think Jones was much better, more dominant that Hamed.

The shame of it for me Mac is I firmly believe if he had fought they way he did up until the Medina fight, utilising his power, but never forgetting the basics, his career could have been much longer, and his legacy greatly enhanced.

Hamed's style was brilliant. It was like its own form of martial arts. When prime, he was truly sensational. He was past prime by the time he fought Barrera but there's no harm in losing to an ATG technician, especially when you're over the hill and break many rules in the book lol.

Roy Jones Jr in his prime is the best ever.

    I agree.

I think that when people with their style lose everyone starts saying that they were "exposed" and how that style doesn't work etc. because a lot of people like to see the guy who's clowning everyone humbled. On the other hand when Tyson was losing no one said that his style doesn't work but that he was past his prime. Same thing happened to Hamed and RJJ, especially Hamed was in sort of Mike Tyson mode late in his career when he didn't take training seriously anymore.

They had the perfect style for their physical attributes.

How does anyone manage to be past prime at 27 without many wars?

Even with wars it's almost impossible to be past prime at 27.

Hamed just got exposed that's all.

The fight would always end up the same way. Barrera took away the left hand. He used his reach and vastly superior technical skills to school a guy who just didn't have anything for him.

Hamed would often sit in the pocket and use his reflexes to evade and land with power. But Barrera was so skilled and so well schooled. His combinations and versatility were amazing. He was so comfortable in there against Hamed.

Naz against Floyd or Marquez would have been even more of an exposure. Naz's style is a counter punchers dream.

I agree. Hamed wasn't any older than Barrera, and Barrera had taken way more shots and been in more wars.
    Barrera exposed Hamed.

As for Jones, he was a more complete fighter than Hamed.

Hamed always got hit more than Jones.

You had best take that up with Tyson fans. They will try to tell you ( if you are stupid enough to fall for it ) their boy was past prime at 23, having boxed less than 130 rounds in 38 fights. :rofl:rofl

This is probably the best description of Hamed anyone could offer. I would rather a fighter lost it through drug, or alcohol abuse, than lose it through their over inflated ego, which he did. And the icing on the cake for me, was when he was willing to let his own brother take the sh!t for the dangerous driving charge. Little scumbag.
