born and raised there...yes? I didnt realise moving somewhere at 13 meant you changed nationality... Guess that makes the USA's best author British
Yeah I never understood why he retired so soon...really respect him though for not making a load of silly come backs like so many fighters do. Lloyd Honeygan was right up there too. He really fought the best and his win over Curry was massive. He was very exciting to watch.
they do? Im english and I hate being referred to as british to be fair....never heard the welsh moan though.
yes they are. Some texans hate being called american and would rather be a republic, doesnt stop the fact that they're american does it.
I think you're being too generous perhaps. My feeling is he retired because the degree to which he felt exposed after the Barrera fight (and his apparent lack of focus) outweighed his hunger. His pride got in the way of his potential. I'm not actually at all familiar with Honeygan. But I'll check him out.
haroon khan boxed for ****stan and hes never even lived there! I didnt realise who you represented in the olympics changed your place of birth and nationality! He calls himself british...but hes not because some mug oin a forum disagrees? when asked if he saw himself as Canadian or British: “I have always been English, ever since I emigrated from England and since the kids in Canada beat me up at the age of 12 for having an East London Cockney accent. I thank them for the Cockney taunts because the beatings turned me on to boxing. But on a serious note, Canada has been kind to me.”
Never retired after the Barrera fight. In fact he never announced his retirement. But the Barrera fight was not his last fight.
