Winning by a few points on the score cards, when you never have a guy in trouble is not a schooling, that is all.

According to everyone in his camp, Hamed had lost his passion for boxing BEFORE he ever fought Barrera. He was never going to have some long career.

Which is a pity as he could have probably got a lot better, and gone on for another 5-6 years at the top.

I heard an interview of his recently where he said the reason he retired was because of constant issues with his hands, and where he hit too hard for the size of his hands, and just decided he'd done enough.

If by a few points you mean winning 9 rounds, and winning alot of them clearly, then i guess we have diffrent definitions for the word.

It's not even close to being the same thing.I've no idea why you even brought up the example of Cotto as it doesn't wash.Even though he was eventually weight drained at the weight,Cotto spent the majority of his career at 140,literally 20 pounds less than the middleweight limit.Mayweather was willing to MOVE DOWN 2 POUNDS to challenged Hamed at a catchweight, and Hamed said,"How many times do you want me to move up?"TWO POUNDS!!THAT'S IT.And MAYWEATHER was going to move down.It would have been the 1st time Hamed would have fought a legitimate great fighter. But,as Hamed said, how many times do you want him to move up?

Doesnt stop the fact that Barrera made Hamed his ***** (slamming his
head into the ringpost and gave him a boxing lesson in that same round), and took his soul that night. :deal

    While being a 3 to 1 underdog.

I haven't watched the whole fight in a few years, but I remember scoring the fight 10-2 or 9-3 the last time I watched it,and thinking how easy Marco made it look.
