After watching some old Prince Naseem fights you can describe Naseem Hamed as flashy, an entertainer, confident or you can describe him as someone who was cocky, arrogant and disrespectful. Compared to Roy Jones, Hamed's showboating was something we have never seen before. From his flip over the ropes, dancing in the ring (litteraly), and his creative taunts. At the end, he always delivered a good show to the crowd but some might say his performance was in bad taste or it was a masterpiece. Do you love him or hate im? (pacquiao vs hamed would have been amazing)
Naz was excellent entertainment whether you were watching in the hope he got knocked out, down to watching just to see how the hell he was gonna get to the ring this time. Shame he retired in the manner he did, he was still an attraction, and it'd have been great to see him up against Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, and guys like that. He'd have lost, but it'd have still been great to watch.
He was a very skilled boxer, but I hated his attitude. He got lost in his own circus act - and I almost felt sorry for him in the end. I rooted for MAB to destroy him... and I was happy...
From the moment that Hamed appeared in Britain, the hype which surrounded him was pretty much unlike anything I have ever seen. I hated him and wanted to see him get his arse knocked out. Over time, my hatred of him has subsided quite a lot. Without the characters, sports loses a great deal and, whatever you think about Hamed, he was certainly a character. I remember him most for the Kelly fight and the monumenmtal hype that surrounded the build up to that fight. I watched about an hour of it on You Tube the other day and the hairs were doing handstands on the back of mu neck. I'd still rank that fight as one of the most exciting I have seen. The real needle in the build up; Hameds 10 minute ring entrance (absolutely **** funny - what a tit!); the back and forth KDs and the semi schooling that Hamed got before being saved by THAT power; the commentary with George Foreman - 'The Prince is for real!!!!' I didn't vote; you'll never get me to say that I love Nas, but I certainly don't hate him anymore. He was something fairly unique during a time when boxing was a part of the public consciousness in a way that it probably never will be again. Sure, he was never as good as he thought he was and, as I predicted from the earliest moments of his career, he was alway going to get schooled against the very best fighters. Nevertheless, the guy had something - who can honestly say that they never uttered the occasional silent prayer to see that little ****er getting knocked spark out! :yep
this blows my mind...you have half the bored who usually makes fun of this guy yet more people have said they love him in the poll
i liked him he was diferent than anyone around and he was very entertaining. i loved is post fight interviews the guy was hillarious.
Didn't like him as a person but loved him as a boxer and entertainer. The only fighter that I've disliked outside the ring but at the same time always wanted him to win come fight night.
