Hamed was at his bestest at 126. Inoue is a beast but with his small frame, 118 may be the heaviest he may go up to.
Yeah quite a lot of fighters over the years come up with that one..."Did not train enough was not ready"....Did not take it seriously Blah Blah Blah.....Quite simply Barrera did not fear the Prince and did not let Him dictate the fight actually almost walked through Him....
Inoue is the better fighter. Can't compare them in stand-off comparison since both of them belonged to different weight class. Let's talk again after Inoue reach featherweight
I for one think prime Barrera beats any version of Hamed due to his impeccable timing, especially with the jab. But having said that if you can't see how he declined after he left Ingle then you never understood his style to begin with. Hamed with Ingle was a pure counter puncher and a very awkward, fast, dangerous one at that. That low hands style, all the crazy stuff he did was to draw a lead, he'd make you miss and then smash you with a counter which of course just amplified his punching power even more. After he left Ingle he just relied on his speed and power, he no longer created opportunities to counter, he simply used his hand speed and launched huge power shots from range and so his opponents were no longer set up like before, so they were not taking his shots in vulnerable positions like before and so we saw people begin to take him the distance. Inoue has a similar strategy to prime Naz in that he's a dangerous counter puncher, he has the ability to put you in disadvantageous positions and then counter you at that precise moment when you are most vulnerable. This is why he's such a devastating puncher and it's was why Hamed was such a devastating puncher too, but once Hamed lost Ingle he lost his craft and guile and was just another crude puncher, albeit a fast one.
It's a game of mistakes. Naz making the cardinal sin in boxing in that he keeps his hands down way too much. I have seen this guy get hit clean with his chin in the air like you don't curr. If that was Inoue who probably hits harder than Barrera. I just don't see him lasting 6 rounds. Naz has a punchers chance though and could land something big himself and have inoue in some kind of way. Although, Inoue has shown a good chin and exquisite stamina. I do believe Inoue will go down himself but get up and make adjustments and catch Naz. Who wont make adjustments has disregards for his defense. Then will pay big time and get KTFO!! There will be a firefight somewhere in the rounds. Naz angles and sneaky shots could catch Inoue off guard and shake him up. But Inoue will just get back to defense and avoid getting caught forcing Naz to come forward look for him which he can do. But will end up running into big shot. Inoue to me hasn't fought anyone like Naz there's the element of uncertainty about this match. I have always criticized Inoue for his level of opps.Naz was no joke so easily the most dangerous fighter Inoue has ever faced.
Inoue hasn't decided to move up to 126 and annex all the belts yet but he weighed 131 against McDonnell three years ago and Naz was 136 against Paul Ingle which is like about the same as what the difference between Twink and Mario Barrios would'v been. Naz hit like truck but so does Inoue and in addition to being, like MAB, far more technically sound than Naz he also possesses uncanny surgical precision, speed and murderous power in both hands and I feel would clip the unorthodox Naz with a straight right hand down the middle as the later was leaping in with a big uppercut and hurt him badly before sending him to the shadow realm with the follow up attack.
I’d actually pick Naz on this one. Inoue absolutely does not hit harder than a FW Barrera. He’s also 5’4 vs MABs 5’7, MAB used his jab well to control Naz. Naz hits harder, has a good chin.
