Ok lets be pedantic. Because he didnt.Calvo was his last bout in a very dull and long affair. By the time Naz fought Barrera you could see the unger was gone and he was very comfortable. Hatton is no diffrent.

Add to that the fact Naz was NEVER beaten in the fashion that Hatton was nor exposed as a one trick pony. Prime Naz was one of the best boxers lb for lb for talent alone. He was brilliant to watch. Audacious and precocious at the same time with devastating power catlike reflexes and wonderfully unorthodox style and a sound beard. Hatton doesnt fit any of those descriptions. When he finally stepped it up after wanting to make some big cheese PBF wiped the floor with him and sent him packing. All he could bring was his vaunted "stamina" which has long since dried up since his stepped up in class.

As Roy Jones said "y`all must have forgot"

    bollocks. :yep

hamed was exposed as all counter puncher against barrera.

barrera took that away from him and he didn't have a clue.

hatton went for it against mayweather and that was why he was taken out.

hamed was running in those last 2 rds. :patsch

We will not get a consensus on here because some people hate hatton with a vengence and people hate naz. They both has had a great career. Oh yeah to the bloke who says what has hatton provedif he beats a bloke who started is career at 106 lbs, well that bloke as beat barrera, marquez and morales and is considered now pbf as retired the best fighter on the planet.

Tough one - both have their fair share of nuthuggers and haters!

Hatton would not have been KTFO had it not been for the point deduction - the head went after that. One thing you can say about Hatton is that he has made himself the best that he could be with the gifts that he had - you cannot say the same about Naz.

Naz was an excellent counterpuncher but was well beaten by Barerra, and never really had a defining fight - the one most people remember is the Kevin Kelley bout for obvious reasons, whilst Hatton had the epic with Tszyu, which many people seem keen to deride.

Ricky will go down in history as having possibly the largest set of fanboys in history (defo british fighter). His career was based on fighting past it fighters or paper champions. He wins a title and then vacates it rather than face the mandatory challenger. The only fight he's had against an active, A level fighter was against Mayeather and we all know how that ended -TKO'ed by the ring post :hi:

Hamed has to take this poll.

If the question was to compare Calzaghe and Hamed, then most would go for Calzaghe.

I know you are a bit of a Hatton hater Scurla, so I would request that you give Hitman and especially Sleazenation a bit of a wide berth!

You are harsh with the ringpost comment though..... because he was looking strong until that point (though being clearly beaten).

OH I didn't know KT was a paper Champion, well there me thinking That leading up to the fight people on the main site were saying that hatton was going to go in five and because he stopped KT he KT is passed it. Then people were saying castillo was going to batter him what happened hatton finished him 4 and now oh he was passed it. Oh but when witter beats Harris it oh he his the best lightwelterweight, and when he gets beat of bardley no one says a word.

Entirely subjective. I saw a fight where Hatton was being hit cleanly and often. By the later rounds he was spent and completely out of ideas. I didnt see any "strength" in his peformance at all. What transpired was exactly what most thought would happen. Only his most ardent fans gave him any hope of beating PBF.

I meant strong as in not being ready for the canvas, as opposed to physical presence - that may have been confusing. He was spent mentally for a number of reasons and was out of ideas.

To be honest, I feel he underestimated Mayweather. He probably looked at the Castillo fights and thought 'oh, I can do that' not realising that PBF had improved a lot since then - and the Gatti fight, where Thunder decided to outmove and outjab Floyd, which was a disaster. He should have looked at the DLH fight and spent five months working on his jab instead of two on the beer and three in the gym.

Read your statement....you said Naz had a win over a prime Naseem Hamed.

    When did he face himself?!
I put it down to the fact that you were so wound up by the thread that you couldnt type fast enough!

He faced himself in the mirror.

Probably beat himself up over the size of his ears.
