The fact isn't intent it's recklessness. Naz should have realised that by travelling at such a speed, on the wrong side of the road, that his actions could have caused serios injury to either himself, pedestrians or other road users. A reasonable person would think, I'm driving at excessive speed in a high performance motor vehicle, in a lane of oncoming traffic. I'm coming up to a hill and cannot see over it, there is a strong liklihood a car will be coming my way soon.......... thus I will really cause damage if I crash into that car. Hence it does not matter if Naz did not intend to cause injury he was reckless as to whether injury would or would not be caused. Although not as serious as intent, if my life has been ruined due to serious/horrendous injuries suffered at the hands of a reckless, irresponsible moron I would be disappointed to see him get anything less than 2 years.
Even a speed demon wouldn't go that fast with a blind dip ahead on the wrong side of the road, on an empty country lane with high visibility or on a flat motorway loads of people go that fast but if your going to do something like that you have to pay attention to your surroundings. Naz failed to do this with tragic consequences and should have been made to pay a much higher price for his recklessness, what he did was just plain stupid and he is a **** for doing so. **** **** poor Albania, don't cry because no-one cares about your language or geographical position.
Never have truer words been spoken. I was recently watching a programme on ESPN Classics focusing on Nas and his bout with Barrera amd his general behaviour just disgusted me. He was flashy and entertaining in his day but never have I detested a fighter as much in my life. Plus I always got the impression he boxed more for Islam and the general Muslim population rather than the Brits. Turned into a bit of a waster recently and he really should get his act together.
Apparently the guy in the other car is facing charges now for trying to ram Naz's motor off the road whilst his wife and kids were in it. That is intent to harm and could land him in very hot water.
I think that was nearly 2 years ago in Sheffield at the Hatton-Maussa fight. Naz won't come back, but any rematch would be easy money for Barrera. Naz's not coming back - apart from the poor showing against Calvo - does harm his legacy IMO.
My Uncle met Naz when he worked for Raido Sheffield. Said he was an arse to everyone around him. Glad to see a fellow Lincoln Boy on the site Charles. Seems like we are down from the dizzying expectations of last year. I live in LA now but try to keep up with the scores and pick up a game at the Bank whenever I get home.
