I was a fan of Naz as he was exciting in the ring, and just watch the Barrera fight for the first time since I watched it live all those years ago. At the time I was very disappointed, however whilst he got pounded by some amazing shots, and got schooled by the masterful Barrera. He looked fresh after a 12 round thrashing and throughout he was always punching back and made the fight exciting as he was trying to land that hay-maker even up to the last bell. When you compare this to the losing displays of Harrison, Abraham, Clottey, Pavlik it shows a fighter who is never deterred from his goal and is willing to give it his best to win. I get the feeling that Hamed would have needed to be stretchered off before he was ko'd in that fight and he wasn't punch shy despite being on the end of some bombs. Maybe today's fighter are not made of the same stuff?
Don't even mention Harrison in the same breath with the other names you brought up. atsch God where is this site going?
Naz's best days were well behind him by the time he fought Berrera.Leaving Brendan Ingle, then sacking Warren were big mistakes, and Naz started to listen to all the yes men around him and ignore his training. It wasn't fighting spirit that kept Naz on his feet that night,it was purely and utterly pride. He was more concerned about losing face than trying to win the fight.Total waste of talent imo,he was a very good fighter who could of acheived much more had he been more disciplined.
