He wouldn't have beaten Morales, Pacqauio or Marquez but they would have been great fights. It's a shame that he hung up his gloves just when he was getting some real competition.
Hamed cashed out. Selfishly. After he got his cloak of invincibility stripped, brutally, he was less a man. Less a fighter. But he could have gotten that back. Roy Jones is living proof it can leave forever however. It goes both ways. Maybe Hamed knew something.
More loses. I actually think he got out at the right time. His style couldn't be successful anymore at the highest level at that stage. His hunger and desire had gone and his hands where f*cked. Unfortunately America never got to see the best Naseem Hamed. What a character!
@Leon. Yep, they were a mess by the time of the Barrera fight and he didn't think to dip them in milk ala Foyd, LOL! Oh, he was around 28 when he called it a day.
Naseem was being protected by his team.. for 2 years they avoided the Mandatory which was JMM and vacated title just to avoid. They took Barrera because they thought he was less skilled then JMM... LOL to bad for him.
Hamed would have lost to all the great FW's of the time, Morales, JMM and Pacquiao would have all beaten him even worse than Barrera did.
