Naseem Hamed's Power. Where did it come from?

Hamed, one of the hardest punchers of the last twenty years, did not look like he possessed alot of power as he was not muscular or even broad. So where did his power come from? Did he lift weights? Have good leverage/technique? Or was his training method unique in developing his power?

The speed and leverage he got into his punches. His upper body was thin but he had very thick strong legs.

He threw his punches from crazy angles, he had good power, but it was definitely not as sharp as some say. He just used leverage with his flexibility and elusiveness (tho it did come back to bite him in the ass against MAB).

I remember seeing the Kelly fight, thinking: "If Morales or Barrera gets a hold of this guy, they will tear him up".

Unfortunately, he didn't have the heart to go through a loss, and he never came back, he was exciting and brought people.

Legs like tree trunks coupled with punches his opponents didn't see coming. I remember Naz catching the well regarded fighter Bungu with what seemed no more than a solid left hand through the guard, the next moment Bungu was on the floor, his face resembleing a fish out of water desparately trying to comprehend what was happening to him.
A very flawed fighter to be sure and no atg, but one of the hardest p4p punchers to have lived.

Just saw a "greatest hits" vid last night and he was swinging from behind his back with surprising precision.

Not so strange that he came to depend on it too much.

Speed, accuracy, body weight and of course the angles - they didn't see them coming, couldn't react to it...

NO DOUBT hamed was one of the best one punch specialist, khan tries to be like him but he just doesn't have the power hamed did. On eof the best boxers in that weight class ever from the UK
