If that was the case then he would have been knocked out many times, especially against Barrera, who hit him with combination after combination. Hamed was never knocked out in his career.

He was down many times, which I'm sure is what you were talking about, but if you actually look at the knockdowns then you'll see that they all stem from being off balance as a result of his odd swaying style. If you get hit while you're leaning back like that (see the first Kelley KD for a perfect example) then it takes barely ANY force to put you on your backside. Proof that he was never hurt from being KD'd is when you study his reaction -- I don't believe I've ever seen Hamed take a count that went beyond 3 or 4 seconds. He went down, then just got right back up, because he wasn't actually hurt at all. That's not a glass chin at all; even someone with a great chin can get knocked down if you hit them while their body is leaning back or in the middle of swaying to the side. It's all about balance.

Now, you definitely have much more of an argument when it comes to heart, because he DID abandon the sport after the Barrera/Calvo embarassment. Then again, he wasn't completely cowardly, as evidenced by his brawl with Kelley -- a cowardly man would have folded in a fight like that instead of coming back with guns blazing.

muscles are overated to a certain extent.. imo has much more to do with tendons and such. A have bigger muscles then a chimp, but his tendons and muscle fibers that he has would put me to shame if we compared strength.

    1. He didnt do weights, he worked out on row machines, so his back was exceptionally strong
    2. He threw his whole body into his punches...he truly fought like a cobra. He was always standing on his side and threw all his body into each power shot.
