Anybody else out there who didnt like the way he hit OD in the back of the head. Blindsided him with a cheap shot.

OD had clearly dictated he wasn't continuing, turned away, surrendered, waved it off, whatever you want to call it....(I refuse to use the "q" word to describe any man with the guts to do what the rest of us don't)...and JT took several steps, advanced towards him, rushed in and clobbered him in the back of the head. Unnecessary.Nasty. Dangerous.

It wasn't a heat of the moment thing. It wasn't done in the heat of battle. Punches weren't being exchanged. Kind of a sour note to a great great fight.

( I was all for JT FWIW)

Rules state "defend yourself at all times"

You cannot turn your head and walk away unless the referee has called the fight off.

JT was entitled to smack OD like that, very entitled.

Gotta disagree. How does Taylor know OD wasn't playing possum ? And OD did quit. Two tanks and no heart

Interestingly enough...even when the ref DID call the fight off.....JT kept punching anyway....

He basically deliberately attacked a man with his back turned, and I didn't like it.
I want to see a fair fight between two willing participants. Not a thuggish attack on s man with his back turned.

Come on...you know that's NOT what the rules mean.
A boxer is entitled to quit if he is badly injured or has taken enough punishment.

Deep down OD didn't want to continue after the knock down he looked a very long time at his corner when down, so his mind was already made up

There was no mistaking that OD was hurt and was opting out. If it was obvious on telly it was more than obvious in the ring. Ref was a bit slow and indecisive. Out of position too.

Howard Foster always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Taylor continued to throw shots because O'hara gesturing he wants no more means nothing, it's referee's job to stop the fight. If Howard Foster is out of position then he clearly is not watching the action close enough. If anyone is to blame its Howard Foster, not Josh Taylor.

OD bottled it. He didn't want any more punishment so he quit

I've been battered plenty in sparring and in bouts I've never turned my back even once . That's some phagggit ****

And i think someone only once turned there back on me and they were a novice. It's pretty rare in all honesty

Also ...even when he did get into position, JT basically ignored him and kept punching anyway. Foster basically had to physically man handle him in orde to stop his continuing attack on a defenceless opponent.....and as I say it wasn't a " heat of battle" situation.
It was a vicious attack from behind on a defenceless guy.

    Should JT have been DQ'd?
I can think of one or two refs over the last 40 years who would quite likely have thrown him out. ......
